only certain thing

There is something that's a little bit weird about looking at your tax return and realizing that your refund is more than your adjusted gross income for the year. I thought I was reading it wrong until I realized that, no, *that* line said AGI and *that* line said refund.

It was mildly depressing, though, to add up all the medical expenses and come up with $2000, and know that wasn't all of them (I don't have all the prescription receipts- it didn't occur to me to start hanging on to them at first). It didn't matter, since the standard deduction is significantly larger (I have no mortgage interest, etc, and while yes, I did donate clothes and other randomness to charity, I don't get receipts for it because that's not the point).
